As of right now, there are 13 Sun Devils who have entered the portal. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re definitely leaving, but it’s probably likely that they will. We’ll be updating this tracker regularly as news comes in on any outgoing and incoming transfers, so be sure to check back here throughout the coming weeks.
Incoming Transfers
WR Zachariah Branch (USC) – visiting
The third-highest rated player still in the transfer portal, according to 247 Sports, Zachariah Branch has emerged as a legitimate target for Arizona State. The former 5-star prospect led USC in receptions and was second in yards this past year. He’s a freak athlete who’s drawn comparisons to Tyreek Hill. Branch is being pursued by several blue bloods, including Georgia, but he has a visit set up for Arizona State and reports indicate the Sun Devils are firmly in the mix.

S Zion Branch (USC) – visiting
The brother of Zachariah Branch, safety Zion Branch is also visiting Arizona State. Reports have indicated that the Branch brothers are a package deal, and that any school will need to take both to get one of them. The Sun Devils just so happen to be in the market for a safety and Branch, a 4-star prospect two years ago, offers elite raw talent with potential to develop into a key piece of Brian Ward’s defense.
WR Mark Hamper (FCS Idaho) – visiting
One of the biggest returning names in FCS football is Mark Hamper, who became a star for the Idaho Vandals as a redshirt freshman. His 963 receiving yards placed 25th in the entire FCS and now Hamper, who has great size and 6’2″ and 210 pounds, is reeling in FBS offers left and right. He’s got visits lined up with Wisconsin, Washington State, and now Arizona State. But the Sun Devils have an advantage: Hamper was high school teammates with quarterback Sam Leavitt. This is one to watch closely.

S Adrian Wilson (Washington State) – committed
With Shamari Simmons graduating after this year, Arizona State is looking to bolster its safety depth, and Adrian Wilson has emerged as a target. The Texas native flew under the radar in high school but finished fourth in tackles and tied for the team lead in interceptions as a redshirt freshman at Washington State. Sun Devil defensive coordinator Brian Ward came from Pullman, and while he wasn’t there when Wilson committed, the defensive scheme is very similar. That could make Arizona State a prime landing spot for Wilson.

DT Jaden Williams (Wyoming) – visiting
As Arizona State looks for depth along the defensive line, Wyoming defensive tackle Jaden Williams has emerged as an option. The California native moved into a more prominent role this year as a redshirt sophomore and finished second on the team in pressures at defensive tackle. Williams has visits set with Arizona State, Kansas, and Kentucky.

RB Eli Sanders (New Mexico) – visiting
We profiled Eli Sanders back in our portal preview, and now the former Chandler High School star is set to visit Arizona State. Sanders originally committed to Iowa State, but transferred to New Mexico this past season, where he topped 1,000 rushing yards and tied Ashton Jeanty with 7.2 yards per carry. Sanders has already taken visits to Arizona, Michigan State, and Virginia Tech, but he reportedly has a close relationship witb Sun Devil running backs coach Shaun Aguano, who was the head coach at Chandler High before joining Arizona State.

RB Kanye Udoh (Army) – visiting
Another running back will be visiting Arizona State looking to take over the mantle from Cam Skattebo. Army’s Kanye Udoh posted 1,111 rushing yards this year and represents a stylistic match to Skattebo as a runner. The New Jersey native is considered one of the top running backs in the portal, and is generating plenty of interest, so Arizona State may have competition here.

DE Emar’rion Winston (Oregon) – visiting
A recent entrant to the portal is Emar’rion Winston. The Portland, Oregon native chose his hometown Ducks out of high school, but the former 4-star has struggled to produce. Seeing work as a rotational edge rusher the last two years, Winston has just 20 pressures and has yet to record a sack. Dillingham was on staff in Eugene when Winston first committed to Oregon, though he wasn’t the direct recruiter. Still, the Sun Devils were quick to offer Winston and a visit will be happening soon.
WR Noble Johnson (Clemson) – committed
This one could move along quickly. Noble Johnson, a stud receiver from Texas, is in the portal after two years at Clemson that saw very little run for the redshirt freshman. Johnson has just three catches for 16 yards, but Tigers coaches were very high on his potential. Johnson came in for a visit this weekend and there is growing buzz that a commitment could be coming sooner rather than later.

WR Duce Robinson (USC) – visiting
The second-highest rated player in the transfer portal, according to 247 Sports, arrived in Tempe for a visit on Friday night that continued into Saturday. Duce Robinson, a 5-star prospect from Arizona, originally committed to USC. This past year, he was second on the team in receiving, but entered the portal. Robinson was a tight end in high school but has transitioned to receiver thus far in college. Arizona State is reportedly in the mix, though Robinson is believed to be visiting with other programs, including Florida State and Texas A&M, later on.

K Jesus Gomez (Eastern Michigan) – committed
The biggest weakness for the Sun Devils in 2024 has been the kicking game, as they used three different kickers and at one point held open tryouts for the position. On Saturday, Arizona State hosted Eastern Michigan kicker Jesus Gomez. Among kickers with at least 25 attempts this season, Gomez was fifth in field goal percentage. He had just one miss inside 40 yards and hit on 7/9 attempts between 40 and 50 yards. Gomez, born in Mexico has one year of eligibility remaining.

WR Jalen Moss (Fresno State) – committed
We listed Jalen Moss in our portal preview and the productive Bulldog receiver has proven to be a hot commodity. He’s received offers from at least 10 schools, including the Sun Devils. He just set up visits with Arizona State, Arizona, and Kansas, though the receiver is expected to also visit with Arkansas and Cincinnati as well.

TE Randy Pittman (UCF) – visiting
As the Sun Devils look to add depth at the tight end position, Randy Pittman has emerged as an intriguing option. The Florida native decommitted from Florida State to pick UCF out of high school, and he saw playing time right away. This year as a sophomore, Pittman finished second on the team in receiving yards and receptions. He is also set to visit the Seminoles, who just hired UCF head coach Gus Malzahn as their offensive coordinator, but Pittman will also take a visit to Tempe.

OL Amos Talalele (USC) – visiting
One of the players that we forecasted as a target for the Sun Devils is Amos Talalele. Since entering the portal, Talalele has reported offers from Kansas State and Cal, as well as the Sun Devils. Talalele hardly played this past season as a redshirt freshman, but the Trojans expected him to be a starter next season. While nothing has been formally announced, Talalele is expected to visit Arizona State soon.

LB Sione Fotu (Utah) – visiting
Arizona State is in the market for linebacker depth, and Utah’s Sione Fotu has become a key target. Fotu was a former top 10 prospect in the state of Utah and committed to the hometown Utes. He saw some work as a rotational player this past season, and has two years of eligibility remaining.
Update: Sione Fotu committed to Houston on December 20.
DE Malik Charles (West Georgia) – visiting
Arizona State needs some depth behind their trio of starters at defensive end, and Malik Charles is an early candidate to fill that need. The Tempe, Arizona native committed to play for FCS West Georgia, and he exploded onto the scene this past season with 7 sacks, 23 pressures, and 33 total tackles.
Update: Malik Charles committed to Oklahoma State on December 17.
WR Joseph Williams (Tulsa) – visiting
Dillingham wasn’t shy about his need to add receivers in the transfer portal. Joseph Williams entered his name into the portal following a coaching change at Tulsa and coming off a strong freshman season. Williams finished second on the team in all three receiving categories with 588 yards on 30 catches. He was one of Arizona State’s first transfer portal offers and is planning to visit the Sun Devils alongside the Arizona Wildcats, among other interested teams.
Update: Joseph Williams committed to Utah on December 18.
WR Chase Sowell (East Carolina) – visiting
Another potential receiver addition will be visiting Arizona State in the coming days. Chase Sowell committed to Colorado under head coach Karl Dorrell, and was one of many Buffaloes players to transfer out after Deion Sanders was hired. He joined the East Carolina Pirates, where he emerged as one of the best receivers in the conference this year. Sowell had 674 yards on 34 receptions despite East Carolina firing their head coach seven games in.
Update: Chase Sowell committed to Iowa State on December 14.
WR Tre Spivey (Kansas State) – visiting
Another player we forecasted this past Sunday, Tre Spivey grew up in Chandler, Arizona and committed to Kansas State as a borderline 4-star prospect. The redshirt freshman played sparingly this year, but the potential is through the roof. While no visit to Tempe has been announced, reports indicate that Spivey has been in contact with the Sun Devils. He visited Iowa State on December 12, and is expected to visit Arizona over the weekend, at which point he may also meet with Arizona State.
Update: Spivey committed to Arizona on December 23.
Outgoing Transfers
CB Cole Martin
The Sun Devils suffered arguably their biggest transfer portal loss on December 17, with Cole Martin entering the transfer portal. The Chandler, Arizona native initially committed to Oregon as a 4-star recruit, but transferred to Arizona State in Dillingham’s first year on the job. Injuries kept him from playing a role on the defense this year, but Martin was expected to be a key contributor next year. The early buzz is that Martin entered the portal to join UCLA, who just hired his father as the defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator.
DE Myles Amey
A walk-on from last season, Myles Amey is the son of current Sun Devil defensive analyst Vince Amey. The elder Amey played on the team in the 90’s and was part of the 1996 Rose Bowl team; he also coached the defensive line last year, but moved to an off-field role this year. Myles was primarily a scout team player and is expected to field offers from several FCS programs.
DT Tristan Monday
Tristan Monday’s intent to enter the transfer portal was announced back in October, and the defensive tackle hasn’t been with the team since. Monday, an Arizona native, transferred back home from Wisconsin in Dillingham’s first transfer class as head coach. He struggled to see the field behind more established players like CJ Fite, Jacob Rich Kongaika, and Jeff Clark.
DT Kyran Bourda
Kyran Bourda just finished up his redshirt freshman season at Arizona State, working exclusively on the scout team in practices, and was unlikely to be in the mix for major playing time next year.
LB K’Vion Thunderbird
A redshirt freshman, K’Vion Thunderbird committed to Arizona State in Dillingham’s first recruiting class. The Chicago, Ilinois native was viewed as having great upside, but was unlikely to crack the lineup in a meaningful way next year with the anticipated return of starters Keyshaun Elliott, Zyrus Fiaseu, and Jordan Crook. Still, Thunderbird was viewed as a piece of the future on defense, and his absence will need filling.
DE J’Mond Tapp
J’Mond Tapp transferred from Texas last year due to not seeing the field enough for the Longhorns, but he had the same problem in Tempe. The trio of Clayton Smith, Prince Dorbah, and Justin Wodtly all elevated their game in major ways. With all three expected back next year, Tapp simply didn’t see a path to the field.
CB Laterrance Welch
Laterrance Welch entered the transfer portal after being dismissed from the team over theft charges. You can read the full story here.
CB Keontez Bradley
Another part of Dillingham’s first recruiting class, Keontez Bradley committed out oh Mansfield, Ohio. Coming into this year, Bradley was competing for a top depth spot but ultimately lost out on playing time. Over the course of the season, he was passed on the depth chart by both Rodney Bimage and Plas Johnson, which makes his decision to transfer unsurprising.
WR Korbin Hendrix
One of many Texas high school players that Arizona State has reeled in under Dillingham, Korbin Hendrix was a track star whose elite speed made him a high upside receiver prospect. Hendrix hardly saw the field behind a handful of seniors and the ascendant Jordyn Tyson, and Dillingham’s stated priority of finding more receivers in the portal this year likely led to Hendrix seeing the writing on the wall.
WR Kaleb Black
Kaleb Black is in the same boat. The Texas native was also a track star who the Sun Devils were high on developing. During spring practices this past year, though, Black struggled quite a bit, and had several drops that persisted throughout. While Black had not formally announced anything until recently, his departure had been assumed for several months now.
S Kamari Wilson
Kamari Wilson may arguably be the biggest transfer portal loss so far. A 4-star prospect out of Florida’s prestigious IMG Academy, Wilson originally committed to the Gators before transferring to Arizona State this year. He was ultimately buried on the depth chart by Shamari Simmons, Xavion Alford, and Myles Rowser. Simmons is out of eligibility, but Alford and Rowser have become key cogs on Brian Ward’s defense. Still, Wilson would have had a role in this scheme, as Ward likes to use three safeties with regularity, and Wilson’s talent is too much to keep off the field.
TE Markeston Douglas
Markeston Douglas was one of a handful of tight end transfers the Sun Devils welcomed in this year, but the massive blocking tight end hardly saw the field as Chamon Metayer blossomed into a top receiving threat. Behind Metayer, Arizona State has Cameron Harpole, Coleson Arends, and true freshmen James Giggey and Jayden Fortier. They’ll also welcome 4-star prospect AJ Ia in the spring.
Update: Douglas announced on December 12 that he was returning to Florida State, which is where transferred to Arizona State from.
WR Jamaal Young
Walk-on receiver Jamaal Young entered the transfer portal after his redshirt freshman season. The scout team player likely was not going to be a part of the picture moving forward on offense.
