The Arizona State Sun Devils did not waste much time locking up their guy with a new contract.
After an impressive 2024-25 season by Arizona State, led by head coach Kenny Dillingham, the Sun Devils and Dillingham have agreed to a new contract.
As Chris Karpman of 247Sports reported,the new deal gives Kenny Dillingham a raise of $1.7 million if approved. The raise will bump Dillingham’s annual salary from $4.05 million to $5.8 million, with incentives also built in.
Some incentives include escalators for winning 6 to 11 games increasing from a one-year extension for six wins to an additional $450,000 for 11 wins.
Should Arizona State return to the College Football Playoff, a win in the quarterfinals is worth $2.5 million, a win in the semifinals is worth $3 million, and a College Football Playoff National Championship would pay $4 million.
In just two years, Dillingham has turned Arizona State from a team expected to finish last in the Big 12 to a national player in college football.
His first year with Arizona State was rough as they went 3-9 overall with a 2-7 mark in PAC-12 play. The move to the Big 12 this past year proved fruitful.
The Sun Devils went 11-3 overall with a 7-2 Big 12 record. Dillingham and Arizona State captured the Big 12 Championship and earned a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff before bowing out to Texas in an admirable effort.
At 34 years old, Kenny Dillingham is changing the face of a program and Arizona State has rewarded his efforts.
