Marcus Freeman and the Notre DameFighting Irish established themselves as one of the best teams in all of college football last year, but they still fell short of a national championship.
Notre Dame finished the season with a 14-2 record, losing to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the national title game. Before falling at the hands of the Buckeyes, Notre Dame defeated Penn State, Georgia and Indiana in the College Football Playoff.
After they concluded the season in which they ended as national championship runners-up, the Fighting Irish decided to make a coaching staff move.
On Monday, Notre Dame hired former West Virginia assistant secondary coach Jevaughn Codlin as an analyst, per Chris Hummer.
Codlin was on the West Virginia Mountaineers’ staff for two years dating back to Feb. 2023. Before his time with the Big 12 program, Codlin was a defensive backs assistant coach at Emporia State.
He was once a NFL Draft prospect after playing defensive back at Kansas Wesleyan University.

Notre Dame has been thriving under the leadership of Freeman. He’s now coached three years at the University and has seemingly brought them back to national champion contenders.
Before joining the Fighting Irish, Freeman played a role on the defensive staff of Kent State, Purdue and Cincinnati.
