Mesquite (Texas) Horn High School’s three-star safety, Markel Ford, recently decommitted from Texas A&M University, reopening his recruitment process. This development has caught the attention of the Arkansas Razorbacks, who are now positioning themselves as potential frontrunners to secure Ford’s commitment.

Ford, standing at 6-foot-0.5 and weighing 190 pounds, had been committed to Texas A&M since June 27 but announced his decision to decommit on Friday, March 7, 2025. During his junior year at Horn High School, he recorded 45 total tackles, one interception, and three pass deflections. His sophomore year was even more impressive, with 56 tackles and four interceptions.

With his recruitment now open, the Razorbacks are hopeful to become leading contenders for Ford’s talents.
