The Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team secured a 6-3 victory over the Winthrop Eagles on March 11, 2025, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This win improved their season record to 9-4.

The Irish showcased a balanced offensive effort, with seven different players recording hits. In the third inning, Notre Dame scored three runs: Nick DeMarco drew a leadoff walk, Jayce Lee was hit by a pitch, and DM Jefferson’s bunt single drove in DeMarco. Noah Coy’s sacrifice bunt plated Lee, and Bino Watters’ triple brought in Jefferson

Pitcher Dylan Heine delivered a strong performance, pitching five innings without allowing any earned runs and striking out five. The defense also played a pivotal role, notably in the first inning when Jared Zimbardo’s catch and Heine’s strikeout prevented Winthrop from scoring

The Irish will face Winthrop again in the second game of the series, aiming to build on this momentum
