Cofield joined the Celtics organization in 2013 and has served in various capacities, including General Manager of the Maine Red Claws, the team’s G-League affiliate, from 2019 to 2022. He played college basketball at the University of Pennsylvania from 2007 to 2009.
Arkansas football coach Sam Pittman expressed the need for a General Manager with experience in professional sports to oversee recruiting and manage relationships during the transfer portal and recruiting processes. Pittman emphasized the importance of having a negotiator to assess the value of potential prospects in the NIL era.
