While it seems like Notre Dame football just concluded its season yesterday, it was actually two weeks ago, you can start planning for the annual spring scrimmage, the Blue-Gold game right now.
The official Irish social media account released the details for the inter-squad contest, as it will be played on April 12th, 2025 at 2 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Peacock. Many are excited to see this game as we will get a first look at who is emerging as the starting quarterback.
It will be an extremely highly contested battle between multiple participants, with the most likely winners being either Steve Angeli or CJ Carr. There are a few other battles that will be worth noting as well, with the starting tackles also a position to watch.
Anthonie Knapp should have one of the spots, but it’s hard to judge after his season-ending injury sustained in the College Football Playoff. Charles Jagusah returned after a pre-season surgery, and while he played well, it was a guard, not his natural position.
Defensively, it’s the safety opposite Adon Shuler that bears some watching, as whoever steps into that role will have huge shoes to fill with Xavier Watts moving on to the NFL.
The Blue-Gold game will be a must watch for every Irish fan, and you can now set your calendar following this announcement.
