The college football season is still many months away, but it’s always interesting to see projections for what Notre Dame football could look like in the fall.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, it could be another very good year for the Irish. They were one of four teams to have the highest projected win total of 10.5 in the country with Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State.
That means that this quartet should be favored to make the College Football Playoff again after all of them made the field his past season. While it is odd that there aren’t any SEC teams in this group, there are more than a few with a projected 9.5 wins. Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee make up that group along with Clemson.
These other four teams should make the 12-team tournament, but FanDuel isn’t quite as confident in them as the first four. If this holds true, there would be only four more spots available, without counting the top Group of 5 team.
Back to the Irish, it very much looks like they will be hosting a CFP first-round game again, as Notre Dame Stadium was electric in the matchup against in-state Big Ten foe Indiana. While Andy Staples believes heartbreak is in store for the Irish again in 2025, hopefully that isn’t the case and Notre Dame ends the year with well over 10.5 wins.
