A former Cardinals star will be training the next generation of Louisville wide receivers.

Jeff Brohm has promoted Deion Branch, a former Super Bowl MVP, to wide receivers coach at the University of Louisville, according to CBS Sports.

Branch previously served as the Cards’ director of player development and alumni relations.

The 45-year-old played 11 NFL seasons and was named MVP of Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005 when his New England Patriots beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21. Branch finished with 11 catches for 133 yards.

Branch coached the Cards to a Fenway Bowl win in 2022 as interim head coach while Brohm was transitioning.

The move highlights Brohm’s confidence in Branch’s coaching abilities and his commitment to continue leveraging internal talent for the team’s success.
