Notre Dame’s Markus Burton has been named to the All-ACC Second Team for the 2024–25 men’s basketball season. Despite leading the conference with an impressive 23.5 points per game, Burton was placed on the Second Team, marking his second All-ACC honor after earning Third Team recognition previously. Notably, this is the first time since 2017 that the league’s top scorer did not make the First Team.
Burton’s season highlights include leading the nation with an average of 31.5 points per game over the last four contests of the regular season and setting a Notre Dame ACC-game record with 43 points against California. Within the conference, he ranks first in scoring, seventh in three-pointers made, eighth in steals, tenth in free-throw percentage, and eleventh in field goal percentage. Additionally, as a sophomore, Burton has surpassed Notre Dame alum Bonzie Colson for the most 30+ point career games in ACC play.
Other ACC accolades this season include Duke’s Cooper Flagg earning both Player and Rookie of the Year honors, with Louisville’s Chucky Hepburn named Defensive Player of the Year.
